The final whistle goes. The crowd filters out onto St Michael's Lane. And the question - as it always is on a match day - is where to eat. If you are heading away from Headingley Stadium looking for somewhere worth your time, Bombay 2 Goa is a 15-minute walk away at 16 Headingley Lane, LS6 2AS, and we have a table for you.
Most searches for restaurants near Headingley Stadium produce a list of places you have already been to. We are something different. From the Carnegie Stand or North Stand exits, walk down Headingley Lane and you will find us on your left before you reach the main junction. There is no taxi needed, no bus to wait for. Just a 15-minute walk and a proper meal at the end of it.
On big match days - during the Test series, One Day Internationals, or a Leeds Rhinos evening kick-off - we fill up fast. We strongly recommend reserving a table in advance. It takes under two minutes online, and it means your evening is sorted regardless of the result on the pitch.
Bombay 2 Goa is not your standard post-match curry. We cook two distinct regional Indian traditions under one roof, and both are worth knowing before you order.
The Bombay side of the menu is built around the bold, fast, democratic street food of Mumbai. Vada Pav - the spiced potato fritter in a soft bun that is Mumbai's most iconic meal. Pani Puri, crispy hollow shells filled tableside with cold spiced water, a dish that always makes a table louder. Samosa Chaat, layered with chickpea curry, tamarind, mint chutney, and pomegranate. These are the dishes people come back for.
Then there is Goa. The restaurant's namesake coastline produces curries built on toasted coconut, Kashmiri chillies, and spice blends that take hours to develop. Our Chicken Xacuti is the dish most regulars consider unmissable - a slow-cooked Goan curry with a depth unlike anything else in Leeds. The Goan Tandoori Prawns, marinated in coastal spices and lime then charred in a blazing tandoor, are the best Indian food near Headingley that most people have not yet tried.
Civilised Drinks. Uncivilised Flavours. That is the idea. Our full bar carries properly made cocktails, a curated wine list, cold beer, and a range of spirits selected to work alongside the food rather than compete with it. Whether you want something long and refreshing after a warm afternoon at the Test, or a cocktail with your Xacuti, we can accommodate you.
Post-match drinks in Leeds do not have to mean a chain pub with nowhere to sit. We have comfortable, well-lit tables, genuine hospitality, and a bar that can keep the evening going as long as you need it to. Groups, couples, families - everyone fits, and large-party bookings are always welcome.
We open from 5pm on Monday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday, Saturday, and Sunday. We are closed on Tuesdays. For evening cricket sessions, post-match rugby dinners, or any match-day evening in Headingley, we are the closest Indian restaurant worth going to - and the one most likely to be full if you leave it to chance.
Book a table for a group of 4 or more in advance and we will give you 15% off your food bill plus one complimentary soft drink per person. The discount applies to food only and excludes seafood and lamb dishes. No code needed - just mention it when you book your table online.
If you want to eat after the match without any uncertainty, book a table now. For group bookings or match-day enquiries, get in touch and we will look after you. The best restaurant near Headingley Stadium is the one that is already expecting you.
