🍽️ Pre-Preparation & Key Ingredients

Ingredients (Serves 2-3)

For Marination & Frying Paneer:

  • 250g paneer (Indian cottage cheese), cubed
  • 2 tbsp cornflour
  • 1 tbsp all-purpose flour
  • 1 tsp ginger-garlic paste
  • 1 tsp soy sauce
  • 1 tsp red chilli powder
  • ½ tsp black pepper powder
  • Salt to taste
  • Oil for deep/shallow frying

For the Chilli Paneer Sauce:

  • 1 tbsp oil
  • 1 tbsp garlic, finely chopped
  • 1 tbsp ginger, finely chopped
  • green chilli, slit
  • onion, cubed
  • capsicum (bell pepper), cubed
  • 2 tbsp spring onions, chopped
  • 1 tbsp soy sauce
  • 1 tbsp red chilli sauce
  • 1 tbsp tomato ketchup
  • 1 tsp vinegar
  • ½ tsp black pepper powder
  • ½ tsp sugar (balances spice)
  • ¼ cup water (adjust for consistency)
  • Fresh coriander leaves for garnish

🔥 Step-by-Step Cooking Method

1. Marinate & Fry the Paneer (Extra Crispy!)

  • In a bowl, mix the paneer cubes with cornflour, all-purpose flour, ginger-garlic paste, soy sauce, red chilli powder, black pepper, and salt.
  • Add 1-2 tbsp water to coat the paneer well.
  • Pro Tip: Let it sit for 10-15 mins—this helps the coating stick better.
  • Heat oil in a pan and deep-fry or shallow-fry until golden brown. Drain on a paper towel.

2. Prepare the Spicy Sauce

  • Heat 1 tbsp of oil in a pan. Add ginger, garlic, and green chilli. Sauté for 30 sec.
  • Add onions & capsicum. Stir-fry on high heat for 2 mins (keep them crunchy).
  • Add soy sauce, red chilli sauce, tomato ketchup, vinegar, black pepper, and sugar. Mix well.
  • Pour ¼ cup water and cook for 1-2 mins until slightly thick.

3. Final Toss & Garnish

  • Add the fried paneer and toss gently in the sauce.
  • Garnish with spring onions & fresh coriander.
  • Pro Tip: For extra flavor, add 1 tsp Schezwan sauce or a dash of lemon juice.
